What is demoralization?

Workplace demoralization is when the confidence or “spirit” of an employee or employees is undermined, intentionally or unintentionally.

Why is demoralization important?

Feeling demoralized leads to feelings of anger, resentment, lack of motivation and lack of trust.  Studies also find links to psychological distress and depression. Workplaces with demoralized workers have reduced productivity levels and a lower quality of customer service.
